Oolong Tran Vi is a partially oxidised tea, meaning it is neither green tea nor black tea, but a unique blend of both. The tea leaves are picked at the perfect stage of growth, then rolled and roasted to create a complex flavour. The finished tea has a lustrous golden colour and is smooth and silky, like silk.
Oolong Tran Vi goes through all 5 basic steps of the tea-making process, in which the rolling and oxidation steps are repeated many times. After each rolling, the leaves are left to rest and oxidise, then rolled again and rested again, repeating this many times over many hours. This process gives the tea extremely rich layers of aroma and flavour, making Oolong tea soft and less bitter and astringent. The tea has a very soft, smooth astringency and is rich in floral or fruity notes.
